Do you smell gas or hear gas leaking?

NO FLAMES OR SPARKS! Immediately put out all smoking materials and other open flames. Do not operate lights, appliances, telephones, or cell phones. Flames or sparks from these sources can trigger an explosion or fire.
LEAVE THE AREA IMMEDIATELY! Get everyone out of the building or area where you suspect gas is leaking.
SHUT OFF THE GAS SUPPLY! Turn off the main gas supply valve on your propane tank, if it is safe to do so. To close the valve, turn it to the right (clockwise).
REPORT THE LEAK! From a neighbor’s home or other nearby building away from the gas leak, call 1st Propane® right away. If you can’t reach 1st Propane®, call 911 or your local fire department.
DO NOT RETURN TO THE BUILDING OR AREA! Until 1st Propane® or an emergency response officer determines it is safe to do so.
GET YOUR SYSTEM CHECKED. Before you attempt to use any of your propane appliances, 1st Propane® or a qualified service technician must check your entire system to ensure that it is leak-free.

Has your tank run empty?

Take the following steps:

Verify that the tank is empty by checking that all propane appliances are not functioning - you might have a problem with just one appliance.

If all appliances have stopped working, check the gas level in your tank. This gauge is in the top of your tank, and reads in percentage of tank capacity. Empty = 0%.
If you have 1st Propane® Worry Free service, you should not have run empty and your 1st Propane® dealer will see that your tank is filled as quickly as possible.
If you do not have Worry Free service, contact your 1st Propane® dealer to make arrangements to have your tank filled.

Important: If a tank has run empty it is necessary to check the entire propane system for leaks before the appliances are restored to operation.
