Franchise Startup

After you have been awarded a 1st Propane® franchise a lot of things start happening. Technical training, management training, equipment purchases, marketing plans, and much more!

It is our goal to make this process as smooth as possible. We have been through the startup process many times and have continued to refine it.

You will be receiving approximately 6 weeks of training before you open your franchise. Approximately 2 weeks will be spent in our office, an additional 2 weeks in the field at your location, and an additional 2 weeks of self-study.

During your training, your equipment will be ordered and the arrangements for a propane storage will be made.

Part of your training will be working together with the 1st Propane Franchising staff to put your marketing plan in place, and have it ready to go when you open your business.

On the PLATO system is a MicroSoft Project® file with an extensive checklist for starting your franchise. Most of these tasks are for us to perform, but some are items that you must do in order to move the process forward. We will instruct you on the use of this tool. This checklist enables us and you to monitor your progress towards your startup.
